OrchidRomance in 10 seconds
- OrchidRomance launched in 2019 as a dating site for Western men looking for Asian women.
- Users can try search, swiping, and newsfeeds to discover potential matches.
- New members can join for free and get 20 bonus credits after verifying their emails.
- Premium membership costs start at $19.99 for 50 credits.
- Virtual gifts, private media access, and video messages are the most costly features.
Who Is OrchidRomance For?
The Orchid Romance dating site is designed to bring together women from the East and men from the West. At least, that’s an impression I got after browsing member profiles, but there’s nothing specific about the user base on the homepage.
SimilarWeb shows a stable audience of around 75,000 monthly visits. It’s most popular in the US (51%) and France (32%), but there are also some members from Italy, New Zealand, and Finland, according to the SimilarWeb stats.
In my experience, the dating app has plenty of members across all age groups, including college-age girls, young women, and mature ladies.
Pros
- Plenty of free features: search, matching, feed
- Many photo- and ID-verified profiles
- Good orchidromance.com reviews outnumber the bad
- 20 free credits as a welcome bonus at sign-up
Cons
- Limited video messaging and no video chat
- Overpriced messaging features
- Relatively small user base with limited search capabilities
- No Orchid Romance app for iOS or Android
How to Get Started on OrchidRomance
It takes three steps to go from seeing Orchid Romance for the first time to being ready to chat:
- Fill out the signup form. It only asks for your name, date of birth, email, and password.
- Complete a questionnaire. It covers your expectations and needs, and includes a photo upload step, but you can skip most questions.
- Set up your profile. Upload a profile picture if you haven’t already, and specify personal details, like your traits, interests, location, marital status, etc. You can also write a short bio to tell potential matches more about yourself.

That’s what I had to do before writing this Orchid Romance review, and the process will be the same for you if you decide to try this dating site. The whole thing doesn’t take long, maybe around 30 minutes if you’re thorough. My advice is to focus on a good photo, because that’s what makes or breaks most dating profiles. You can always fill out the rest of the profile page later.

OrchidRomance Features I Tested
I spent over a week poking around Orchid Romance to test every feature I could find. Here are a few I used most. I noticed a few benefits but also a couple of big pitfalls you should know before using this site.
Personal Feeds
Feeds are probably my favorite thing about Orchid Romance. A common Newsfeed looks exactly like Instagram, only without the ads. You can see the latest posts, like them, follow other members, and view their profiles.

Personal feeds are at the bottom of profile pages, and I liked them more than galleries because most photos were not as heavily edited. And it showed me which ladies were recently active and actually interested in meeting someone.
Still, I recommend you scroll through the personal feed for a while to see if the pictures are actually new. Some members seem to repeat the same five photos on a loop, which was an instant red flag for me.
Search and Matching
You can also search for potential matches or try swiping (in the People tab). The Orchidromance dating site isn’t too flexible. At best, you can choose a specific country and age range, nothing else. There aren’t even any appearance filters for those of us who have a clear picture of a perfect match in our heads.

Swiping (or liking) profiles works fine if you prefer to focus on one profile at a time. But suggestions seem to be pretty random. Still, you don’t have to wait for a mutual like, and it works as a free way of attracting attention and gauging mutual interest.

Live Chat and Mail
There weren’t any surprises when I tested messaging. Live chat works smoothly and supports all sorts of media messages, though you have to be careful not to click on anything you don’t want to pay for, because there’s no confirmation, and the credits are instantly gone from your balance. Stickers were a nuisance at 5 credits apiece, so I didn’t end up using any of those, but the rest worked fine. Overall, my experience was in line with other Orchid Romance reviews claiming the platform works fine if you’re only interested in chatting.

Being able to read the first messages from other members for free was also nice, for the most part. Some emails were obviously meant for everyone, hardly personalized at all. I didn’t want to acknowledge these low-effort attempts to get me into a conversation, so I ignored most of those.
Finally, from a UX perspective, the inbox is a bit lacking. There’s no way to sort through the message threads quickly beyond the “starred” conversations. I’d appreciate an opportunity to add tags or other ways to distinguish between chats.

OrchidRomance Free Trial and Premium Membership
I realize pricing is probably the only part of my OrchidRomance review most readers care about, so here’s a breakdown of all the free and premium features to help you gauge the expenses and decide if this site fits your budget.
Basic Access
As I’ve mentioned, OrchidRomance registration is free, and there are plenty of free features to explore with a basic membership. You can:
- Set up and edit your profile
- Use search filters to find matches
- Explore random matches in the People tab
- Scroll through the Newsfeed
- Browse public member profiles and their feeds
- Use likes, winks, and follows to show your appreciation
Unfortunately, messaging is premium only, so you cannot do anything about mutual likes, at least once your bonus credits run out. After signing up, Orchid Romance free credits instantly appeared on my balance. I could spend 20 credits on chat, mail, or photo messages, but they didn’t give me enough to watch videos or purchase virtual gifts. Still, it was nice to have the option to test premium features without spending a penny or committing to a subscription.

Premium Cost
When my free credits ran out, I had to purchase more to keep testing the premium features. I wish the website was a little more transparent about the Orchid Romance cost. As a new member, I only got an offer to purchase 150 credits for $19.99 instead of $75.00, and I had no idea how much the following bundles would cost until after I’d completed the first payment.

Here are the rates I discovered at that point:
- 50 credits – $19.99
- 125 credits – $44.99
- 250 credits – $69.99
- 750 credits – $149.99
I noticed that the rates differ slightly when I log in on different devices using a VPN, so you’d better check the pricing in your country.
At least the dating site is more open about what your money goes toward. You’ll see the full breakdown in the screenshot below, but here are the rates for popular features:
- Live chat – 2 credits/minute
- Photos/audio messages – 10 credits
- Videos – 50 credits
- Virtual gifts – from 32 to 289 credits

So, at full price, for $150 you’ll get around 6 hours of live chat (around 2 weeks if you chat for 30 minutes daily), 75 exclusive photos/audios, or 15 videos. That’s a little steep compared to other international dating sites I’ve tested. While you get full control over your spending, you have to keep a close eye on your balance to avoid going over budget.

OrchidRomance Reviews and Reputation
Although it has a 3.7-star rating on Trustpilot, there are almost as many negative Orchid Romance dating site reviews (37%) as there are positive (42%). Most users praise customer support and overall user experience. The complaints revolve around excessive pricing, suspicious profiles, and lack of successful matches. Nothing I haven’t seen said about every other dating site I’d tested.

SmartCustomer lists over 8,600 reviews and an average rating of 3.9 stars. The positives are similar, while the Orchidromance review complaints mention aggressive messaging and excessive spending caused by the credit-based pricing.

My Reddit search showed the same mix of positive and negative posts. As far as I can tell, most users are not fond of the credit-based payments and are unwilling to overpay for a chance to talk to their matches outside the dating platforms.

Verdict. Is OrchidRomance Safe?
The OrchidRomance app has great features, like personal feeds, in addition to all the standard dating stuff. It seems relatively safe, thanks to profile verification, but it’s also somewhat overpriced compared to other platforms I’ve tested. And its video functionality is pretty limited. Overall, I’d suggest you start with CupidTicket if you’re looking for an authentic Asian dating experience.
