Completing a profile and making it responsive and popular is your number 1 priority! In online communication your profile is like your appearance – that’s the first thing people see before they start (or don’t) chatting with you.
Pick A Picture!
So, let’s start with setting your profile: first of all, pick a picture of yourself… No, not your 10-years-younger-self, come on! Many people set an old picture of themselves, hoping to attract more attention with old pics rather than with recent ones. This is a losing strategy in a long run. First of all, no one likes to be catfished (yes, even if you’re hiding behind your own old picture, that’s still a catfishing), and secondly, you’ll feel even more insecure about your-now-self than before. So, believe in yourself, set your real and recent picture and break a leg! Not literally, of course.
Oh, and don’t forget that it should reflect your lifestyle and values. For instance, if you hate nightclubs, but have a photo in it, maybe don’t put it as a profile picture. This the first thing your potential partner sees, so make it relevant.
Complete “About Me” Section
Add some information about yourself to the profile. Do you like sport? Mention it! But if you’re a couch potato, don’t tell you’re a professional cricket player. Especially if you played only at school 30 years ago. Especially if it was called baseball…
Anyways, you need to be honest. For example, if your biggest hobby is watching TV serials or shows and you wish to talk about your favourite “Friends” episode or share a strong opinion on why Rachel and Ross are the worst couple ever, feel free to mention it in your profile. We’re sure that honesty will bring you to many people with same tastes and hobbies. Trust the magic of the Internet!
Complete Other Sections
We don’t recommend skipping any fields in your profile. They can be a red flag to ladies who may assume that you leave these sections blank because of some reason, and rarely a good one.
Some More Tips
It’s important to avoid bragging. Generally speaking, people with overinflated self-assurance are rarely good communicators. No matter what you’re excessively proud of – your income, or career achievements, or car – very few women really find braggarts attractive. And if they do – ask yourself if their intentions towards you are really serious.
